Inside Deepika Padukone's Bag | In The Bag | Vogue India
Vogue India has just brought its globally renowned celebrity video series ‘In The Bag’ to India for the very first time. The first episode of the series was released with Deepika Padukone, who gives viewers a peek into what's in her bag. The series is known to have starred celebrities like Victoria Beckham, Angelina Jolie, Brooklyn Beckham, Serena Williams, Kendall Jenner amongst others on their YouTube Channel.
The actor, who’s known for her style statements takes us through the contents of her newly acquired Louis Vuitton Dauphine bag. Vogue India shares the scoop on what's in her bag – and there are quite a few surprises. Through the video, Deepika gives a glimpse of what she says “carrying her whole house in her bag”. From her beauty essentials, accessories, a quirky keychain, some technology and her most essential kit – it’s all there. Especially watch it for her pencil dialogue hack and her obsession with collecting airline miles with her laminated air miles cards which she says are far more important to her than her credit cards.
“Our May cover star Deepika Padukone represents a modern woman who is comfortable in her contrasts. The 36-year-old global megastar is equally comfortable in ball gowns as well in track pants–we’re thrilled to have her in our first episode of the In The Bag series,” says Megha Kapoor, Head of Editorial Content, Vogue India.
Vogue India's May cover star, Deepika Padukone was announced as Louis Vuitton's first ever Indian brand ambassador, shortly after Padukone was featured on the cover in a Louis Vuitton ensemble. The photo shoot of the magazine's May 2022 issue shows her wearing a variety of Louis Vuitton outfits and accessories. In the cover story, Padukone discussed her previous campaign for the brand and her working relationship with its creative director, Nicolas Ghesquière. In the year 2020, she became the first Indian ever to work with the prestigious brand. Back then, she posed for a vintage book cover alongside GOT fame, Sophie Turner, among others.
The first Indian episode of the series premiered on Vogue India’s YouTube channel and was promoted across their digital platforms.
Says Deepika:
“My airline cards are more important than my credit cards”
“What I think an actor should always carry in their bag is a memory of something to keep them grounded”.
“My notebook is extremely important and I am a little old school like that. I do appreciate technology but I think it's important, and this is what my father taught me: always make notes and I carry a pencil instead of a pen”.
“The essential kit has all the medicines, a pen to clean stains, wet wipes, tampons, there is a nail file, Alka-seltzers if you are hung over, safety pins which are extremely important, band aids – it has everything.”

Lifestyle Insider is a showcase of all that is beautiful and luxe. Behind every creation, is a designer, chef, entrepreneur, or a design maison. I have delved into my own appreciation for objetsde luxe that I have admired over the years – be it a love of fashion from the world’s top Parisian and Italian fashion maisons and their ’90s muses, or the care that goes into sari and Indian textile collections in my own family. Growing up on four continents, as the daughter of a former Indian Ambassador, I’ve seen a remarkable array of historic places and met a myriad people. My aim is to bring my world view into this website, a curation of what I find particularly stunning, unique, and newsworthy.
It’s an exciting time for brands all over the world. With change comes opportunity. With the global ‘reset’ and uncertainty on many fronts, there is a chance to write a new script. Let’s be those pioneers.
