Join a World Street Food Carnival!

Have you tried the street food Carnival at MKT, The Chanakya? It’s on until Saturday so do hurry… featuring exceptional, hand-picked dishes from India, Japan, Mexico, the Middle East, and Italy, the menu packs a punch when it comes to robust flavours!

Arancini di Rosso

A vibrant collection of international plates capturing the bold flavours and authentic spirit of global street food awaits you at The Chankaya Mall. Running all day until August 31st at MKT restaurant, embark on a culinary adventure this rainy season with delicacies from Italy, Japan, China, the Middle East, India, and Mexico.

Bao Buns with Braised Belgium pork belly

Inspired by bustling markets of world cities, the menu features standout items like the cheesy Italian Arancini di Risso, crispy Japanese Karaage, and fluffy Bao Buns filled with either Schezwan vegetables or braised Belgium pork belly. Each dish highlights unique ingredients and cooking techniques that make street food unforgettable. Complementing the global fare is a selection of creative cocktails and mocktails inspired by seasonal fruits and international flavours. This Street Food Carnival offers food enthusiasts a chance to embark on a worldwide culinary journey without leaving Delhi.

Jamun Fizz mocktail

The mocktails are the perfect thirst slakers for humid days. Try the Jamun Fizz, Pink Dream and a coconutty savoury sweet Coco Cascade. Or try a cocktail – Plum Perfect with vodka and plum saccharum, or Mango Mistique with mango-infused tequila, pineapple, citrus, and honey.

Chicago style hot dogs

The Arancini is not the miniature, finger food found on most menus, but a slightly bigger sphere of bocconcini-filled cheesiness; the falafel-filled Shawarma or Pita Sandwich comes with a tasty hummus and pickled vegetables. There’s also a Chapli Kebab with raw banana, ulta tawa paratha, tamarind glaze, and mint salsa. For a taste of Americana, there’s a Chicago-style Hot Dog with chicken frankfurters, neon relish, mustard, and fries. The Bao Buns come with Schezwan vegetables with enoki, or Braised Pork Belly.

Churros with chocolate sauce

Or if you’re in the mood for a hot pocket of savoury goodness, try the Calzone, with salami, ricotta, and fior de latte. If you have room for dessert, try the Churros with chocolate sauce vanilla cream, and dulce de leche.

In the heart of the capital city, inside The Chanakya Mall, MKT features expansive international food offerings paired with world-class dining experiences, designed as an immersive gourmet journey with elegant dine-in spaces and live cooking theatres.

Lifestyle Insider is a kind of junction point, connecting people with diverse interests that touch on the more luxurious aspects of lifestyle – fashion, design, travel, food and spirits, art, watches and jewellery, cars, yachts, and aviation, and technology. People today don’t fit into boxes and categories. In our individual ways, we are interested in diverse themes, products, and the challenges that face our world today. You will judge how well this effort of mine caters to your passions and proclivities.

Lifestyle Insider is a showcase of all that is beautiful and luxe. Behind every creation, is a designer, chef, entrepreneur, or a design maison. I have delved into my own appreciation for objetsde luxe that I have admired over the years – be it a love of fashion from the world’s top Parisian and Italian fashion maisons and their ’90s muses, or the care that goes into sari and Indian textile collections in my own family. Growing up on four continents, as the daughter of a former Indian Ambassador, I’ve seen a remarkable array of historic places and met a myriad people. My aim is to bring my world view into this website, a curation of what I find particularly stunning, unique, and newsworthy.

It’s an exciting time for brands all over the world. With change comes opportunity. With the global ‘reset’ and uncertainty on many fronts, there is a chance to write a new script. Let’s be those pioneers.

A bit about me:
A luxury and fashion journalist with 25 years of experience in publishing and magazine journalism, I have edited some of India’s top fashion and luxury magazines. I got my BA in Comparative Literature from UC Berkeley, and went on to receive my Master’s in English and French from the University of Strasbourg, France. I have also studied German and Film. I live in Gurugram, India, and look forward to once again exploring our world with a new-found freedom.
