FENDI Men's SS22 advertising Campaign
Shot in Rome, on the rooftop of the Fendi Headquarters at Palazzo della Civiltà Italiana, the new advertising campaign for the Fendi Men’s Spring/Summer 2022 Collection designed by Silvia Venturini Fendi – Fendi Artistic Director of Accessories and Menswear – brings the same energy and atmosphere of the show that took place in the same location. The collection comes alive through the campaign photographs and videos under the creative direction of multifaceted Italian artist Nico Vascellari.

Signature looks are captured in a daydream atmosphere, picturing models walking and standing across a cloudy Roman sky which evolves through the course of the day. The idea of a vision is enhanced by a play of mirrors and reflections, doubling models and multiplying points of view in a single shot. In fact, the campaign displays the idea behind the collection: a playful escape from reality, subverting everyday objects with the heights of Fendi craftsmanship.

The subtle palette of the collection echoes spring flora and the transient skies, as the ones portrayed in the advertising campaign. Pastel shots of lemon and lime, ice blue, lavender, pistachio and peony are shown against mineral shades of travertine, chalk, graphite and slate, giving life to a spectacular canvas of soft colours.
FENDI Men's SS22
Reflections on watching the world from above have inspired the Fendi Men’s Spring/Summer 2022 collection, a rich interplay of lightness and ease with a laser sharp focus on the future of luxury. New tailoring volumes combine a multitude of materials, shapes and utility details. The Fendi Earth topographic print, made up of abstract contoured motifs, floats across linen silk suiting, jacquard denim and plush crochet tees. Plucked from the Fendi archives, an illustrated map of Rome becomes Fendi Land, a cartographic drawing of the city with freehand FF logos. Following the idea of distorted reality, the Peekaboo appears with iconic Selleria macro stitches or in matte nylon, along with the new mini Fendiness backpack featuring its signature utility buckle and crossbody style.

Lifestyle Insider is a kind of junction point, connecting people with diverse interests that touch on the more luxurious aspects of lifestyle – fashion, design, travel, food and spirits, art, watches and jewellery, cars, yachts, and aviation, and technology. People today don’t fit into boxes and categories. In our individual ways, we are interested in diverse themes, products, and the challenges that face our world today. You will judge how well this effort of mine caters to your passions and proclivities.
Lifestyle Insider is a showcase of all that is beautiful and luxe. Behind every creation, is a designer, chef, entrepreneur, or a design maison. I have delved into my own appreciation for objetsde luxe that I have admired over the years – be it a love of fashion from the world’s top Parisian and Italian fashion maisons and their ’90s muses, or the care that goes into sari and Indian textile collections in my own family. Growing up on four continents, as the daughter of a former Indian Ambassador, I’ve seen a remarkable array of historic places and met a myriad people. My aim is to bring my world view into this website, a curation of what I find particularly stunning, unique, and newsworthy.
It’s an exciting time for brands all over the world. With change comes opportunity. With the global ‘reset’ and uncertainty on many fronts, there is a chance to write a new script. Let’s be those pioneers.
A bit about me:
A luxury and fashion journalist with 25 years of experience in publishing and magazine journalism, I have edited some of India’s top fashion and luxury magazines. I got my BA in Comparative Literature from UC Berkeley, and went on to receive my Master’s in English and French from the University of Strasbourg, France. I have also studied German and Film. I live in Gurugram, India, and look forward to once again exploring our world with a new-found freedom.
